RESUMEN
El siguiente trabajo interpreta la obra del fotógrafo estadounidense David LaChapelle como parte de lo que el criticoArthur Danto denomina arte poshistórico o tercera narrativa artística. Asimismo, intenta plantear a partir del análisis de su obra, la supervivencia de algunos elementos de la cultura popular medieval en la cultura popular de masas, describiendo brevemente los canales de transmisión que ésta ha tenido y el modo como lo popular se ha resignificado a través del tiempo al mezclarse con otros mundos culturales. Finalmente se estudia la manera como el artista recrea y crea en sus producciones algunos de los imaginarios sociales contemporáneos en torno a los jóvenes, las mujeres y las celebridades.

SUMMARY
The following article interprets the work of the american photographer David LaChapelle as part of what Arthur Danto calls “posthistorical art’ or third artistic narrative. Therefore, starting from the analysis of his work, he makes an attempt to state the surviving of some elements of the popular medieval culture within the popular mass culture, briefly describing its transmission channels and the way on how the popu lar has reposed through time when mixing with other cultural worlds. it Finally, focuses on the way an artist creates and recreates within his productions some of the social contemporary imageries around young people, women and celebrities.
